Arun Kakatkar joins Microsoft India as Human Resources Leader

Microsoft India has appointed Arun Kakatkar as its Human Resources Leader. He replaces Ira Gupta at Microsoft.

In his new role, Kakatkar will foster an inclusive, high-performance culture, align talent strategies with business goals, build strong leadership teams, and execute unified people strategies for organizational alignment and growth.

This marks his second term with Microsoft, previously also he worked with the organization from January 2008 to October 2011. His last designation during his tenure was Director – People & Organization Capability.

Arun Kakatkar brings over 26 years of extensive experience, showcasing his seasoned leadership across various specialized functions, industries, and geographic locations.

He has a deep understanding and experience in business strategy, operations, strategic change management, people leadership, organization effectiveness, leadership development, and business leadership.

Before joining Microsoft, Arun Kakatkar was associated with Kalyani Group as President / Chief of Strategy and Organization.

Previously, he was associated with TE Connectivity as Managing Director India and Vice President Human Resources Asia Pacific. His earlier stints include working with Flextronics, Ingersoll Rand, Foseco, and Black & Decker.

He holds Master’s in Business Administration and a BE in Production Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
