A Tata Group owned, Air India has increased the salaries of their employees and also will provide annual performance bonuses with effect April 1.

The Junior First Officers will not receive the salary hike for the current cycle. Additionally, the airline will provide an annual performance bonus up to Rs 1.8 lakh.

As per the statement published in Money Control, Air India said, “Pilots who underwent command upgrade and conversion training from April 2023 to March 2024 and whose training was delayed due to justifiable organizational reasons will receive additional compensation for time spent in training beyond the guaranteed 40 hours of flying.”

Salary Increase at Air India

First officers and captains will receive a monthly salary increase of Rs 5,000. Commanders will have their pay raised by Rs 11,000, while senior commanders will enjoy a substantial pay jump of Rs 15,000.

This adjustment in salaries reflects a structured approach to rewarding different ranks, ensuring that compensation is aligned with the level of responsibility and experience.

  2. Those first officers or captains achieving the same rating will receive Rs 60,000.
  3. Commanders who meet this performance standard will be eligible for a bonus of Rs 1.32 lakh.
  4. The senior commanders will receive Rs 1.8 lakh for the same rating.
