Like Infosys, Siemens and Microsoft ; Flipkart also plans Hybrid Workplace

India’s leading e-commerce firm Flipkart plans to adopt a Hybrid Workplace Model that blends remote work and office, Chief People Officer of Flipkart, Krishna Raghavan has confirmed and said in an interview with LinkedIn News.

Krishna said, “work from home as the new normal but when we listen to employees through continuous listening format, figured out that there are specific use cases where employees really want to actually come into offices/workplaces in a very safe and secure environment to collaborate.”

These are scenarios when new leaders are joining-in, enabling employees to come in is important when there’s, for example, a new hire, a simulation, a need for ideation, or celebrations, Krishna said.

Recently Infosys has announced to adopt hybrid workplace model, UB Pravin Rao said, “What we are looking at is a model, where some of our employees will continue to work from home and others from office.”

Hospitality major OYO Hotels & Homes announced that it has permanently moved to a ‘hybrid workplace model’ that involved a combination of work from home, or from co-working spaces, for the foreseeable future.

Last month, Siemens has decided to let its employees work from wherever they want for two or three days a week, in the latest example of how the coronavirus is making major companies re-think how and where their staff work.

In the last week of July 2020, Microsoft with research firm TechRepublic looked into the impact the pandemic has had on the region’s work styles, business operations, and how it has accelerated an increase in overall technology adoption. The study forecasts a Rise in Hybrid Working across Asia Pacific
