Deutsche Bank to onboard 1,000 employees this year

Deutsche Bank plans to hire up to 1,000 new employees this year in India at its technology centres, as it looks to double down on digitisation.

The company is looking for people who have the ability to be flexible as technology changes rather than specific digital skills. This includes around 300 freshers and 700 lateral hires.

Out of the 1,000, the company has already hired over 300 graduates from top engineering institutes in the country. They will join the bank in July 2021.

The company said, our focus is on cloud technology, simplifying the tech stack, which is the back end processes for loans, account opening and other functions, competence in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

Tech graduates undergo two six-month job rotations and participate in the one-year global continuous development programme, after which they receive their final placements. The graduates hone their skills as full-stack developers that provide them a broad understanding of various aspects of tech development.

Ash Malik, Head of India technology centers in Deutsche Bank said, “Our software engineers in India are working on the bank’s top 50 programs and 60% of our people are focused on engineering. Some of the platforms that we support in India include those for big data and analytics, the data lake platform, and the HR, credit risk, and market risk platforms.”

Deutsche Bank hires from the best campuses in India like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), NITs, BITS Pilani, and visited close to 40 campuses this year.
