DXC Technology to hire 7,000 freshers in India this year

DXC Technology, a US-based IT firm plans to recruit 7,000 freshers from campuses in India this year. In 2021, the company’s target to hire fresh talent from campuses is 40 percent higher than the previous year, It hired 5,000 freshers last year in India.

According to the Money Control report, DXC Technology has more than 40,000 people in India and 1.7 lakh globally.

Nachiket Sukhtankar, MD, DXC Technology India, said that we’re is going to recruit the talent in India engaging a larger talent pool to continue the journey. The demand for niche skills is increasing in the market that has made the company step up the premium on talent and retain employees.

He also said, “As demand for the right talent is increasing in the market, we have to be competitive in terms of compensation, as well as need to focus on employee value proposition to attract and retain talent in this industry.”

“Whether you like it or not, word of mouth plays a big role,” he added.

He also emphasized the need for training and development and said, the firms are now working on career progression and offering opportunities. However, the company is not offering multiple wage hikes that might end up giving wrong expectations.

“So, we haven’t done multiple wage hikes. That’s fine. What we’ve done is promoted, right from inside the organization, rather than get it from the outside,” he added.

DXC’s hiring plans come at a time when Top IT services companies in India like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro have also announced robust hiring plans. TCS said to hire 40,000 freshers this year, and Infosys is looking to hire 26,000 freshers.
