As the third wave of Covid-19 omicron subsides, most of the companies are planning to call their employees back to office in a staggered manner.

Some of the companies have started their process and informed employees to be ready to join the office. According to media reports, IT firms such as Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, and Infosys are heading to the Work From Office model that existed before the COVID pandemic.

As per the report, IT major, Wipro has asked managers and senior employees to return to the office by March 3, 2022. However, they will be called for two days a week for now.

Cognizant Technology Solutions will call its employees back to the office in April 2022. The company will ask associates to return to the office one day a week, beginning in April.

India’s second-largest IT Major, Infosys said in December it will open its offices to a larger share of employees in the next 3-4 months. The company expects a hybrid model in which approximately 40-50 per cent of employees are likely to work from office post subsequent phases of return to office.

TCS said it will also allow its employees to work in hybrid model, which means that they can continue work from home and be in the office premises occasionally. But it has put out a comprehensive remote working policy that states mandatory work from the base location even if associates are working from home.

In a similar manner, Infosys also is planning to adopt the hybrid model for its employees in the next couple of months.

If we talk about Non-IT firms, there is a long list of companies that have planned to reopen offices for the employees such as Tata-owned Voltas, ICICI Bank, Parle Products, Sun Pharmaceutical, Godrej, Goldman Sachs, Dabur, Haier, Panasonic, Biocon, Dixon Technologies and Motilal Oswal Financial Services.

However, companies such as LG India, Metro Cash and Carry India, and Godrej & Boyce are planning to review the office attendance, the firms such as Sun Pharma, Dabur, Parle, and Panasonic have already called back their employees.

Flipkart, Tata Steel, PepsiCo, Axis Bank, RPG Group, Vedanta, and Puma said they will continue with flexible options.

Reports also mention that even if offices open, there could be a possibility that cafeterias in office may remain closed. Some offices may also opt for shifts and staggered timings.
