American mobility service provider company, Uber has asked its employees to come into the office twice a week.

The company has announced Tuesdays and Thursdays as “anchor days”. On these particular days, all non-remote employees must work from the office globally.

The policy will be effective from November 1. However, the company has added that employees could work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.

Last July, Uber said it will let staff work from anywhere as much as half the time. COVID-19 has forced companies to work from home (WFM). Now, many companies worldwide are adapting to hybrid working models.

Recently, India’s IT services provider company Wipro has asked its employees to work from the office for at least three days a week.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has sent emails to employees asking them to work from an office at least three days a week. Infosys has also signaled similar intentions of getting employees back to the office.

On the other hand, Tech giants such as Twitter Inc, Meta Platforms Inc, and Microsoft Corp have also opted for flexible working policies.

Earlier, Uber Technologies said that it will slow down hiring and reduce expenditure on its marketing and incentive activities. The company is based in San Francisco with operations in approximately 72 countries and 10,500 cities in 2021.
