Former Infosys President Ravi Kumar S to join Cognizant

Former Infosys President Ravi Kumar S who recently resigned from the company after serving for 6 years will be joining as the President of Cognizant Americas.

According to an internal communication issued by CEO Brian Humphries, Ravi Kumar S will join Cognizant on January 16, 2023.

“Ravi will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of our business in the US, Latin America and Canada, including our industry teams, the Americas Consulting organisation, and the global Large Deals team.” Humphries said.

Ravi Kumar S stepped down from India’s second-largest IT major Infosys last week. As President, he was responsible for the Infosys Global Services Organisation across all industry segments.

Additionally, Ravi Kumar led the services lines and specialized digital sales across consulting, technology, infrastructure, engineering, and process verticals. He has served in various roles and capacities during his 20-year tenure.

Ravi Kumar started his career as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center. He joined Infosys in 2002. Further, he was appointed as the company’s President in 2016.

“The board of directors placed on record their deep sense of appreciation for the services rendered by Ravi Kumar S. for his contributions to the company,” Infosys said in a regulatory filing.

Ravi shared a LinkedIn Post saying, “After 20 wonderful years at Infosys, I want to let you all know that I’m moving on to explore new experiences and broaden my horizons. During these 20 years I was blessed to work with wonderful people, great leaders, an extraordinary mix of experiences, running a diverse set of roles globally, imbibed a lifelong learning culture, and enjoyed the entrepreneurial spirit of this wonderful platform, Infosys and I’m deeply indebted and very grateful to everyone involved in my journey.

“A lot of friends for life, great experiences, emotional moments and so many milestones we celebrated together will stay forever in my memories. As I embark on my new endeavor, I will always cheer for Infosys and will stay grateful to all of you amazing people and look forward to staying in touch”, he added.

Cognizant also announced the appointment of Prasad Sankaran as the new head of the software & platform engineering practice area. He will join on November 1.

“Both of these announcements speak highly of our company’s ability to attract world-class talent. I’m excited by the possibilities ahead.,” Humphries said.
