Work from office: Pregnant techie ends life due to loss of job

As per TOI reports, A woman techie committed suicide after the software company terminated her for not working from the office.

The women employee, Nakkala Shravani, 22 years old, was asked to work from the office but she had requested to work from home due to her eight-month pregnancy.

Nakkala Shravani lived in the Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, and worked for a Chennai-based software company. However, the company did not exempt her from working from the office, and also company ended her contract on this ground. 

She was fired 15 days ago. The police said that she was upset that she lost her job and gone missing. On Tuesday night, Her body was found in a village pond in a decomposed stage.

The major IT companies like Tech Giants like Accenture, Infosys, TCS, and Persistent Systems have already ended work from home and made lucrative arrangements to call back their employees to offices.

Additionally, companies have strict on making policies when it comes to working from the office. Many tech companies also laid off nearly 70,000+ people in the year 2022. Top tech companies have either frozen the hiring process or laid off employees.
