The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) conducted a poll that revealed that 51% of IT Freshers Waiting For More Than 1 Year To Get Onboarded.

Harpreet Singh Saluja Founder President created a poll, and said through a post, “Are you tired of delayed onboarding by IT companies? Now’s your chance to make your voice heard. Participate in the poll created by the NITES and help bring about change.”

Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate shared a Tweet saying, “How long have you been waiting for your onboarding date at your current IT job?”

The pools have indicated the following findings:-

  • 23.4 percent of freshers have been waiting for a year.
  • 20.8 percent of freshers waited for nearly nine months.
  • 4.7 percent of freshers waited for six months.

The poll was participated by more than 1,000 freshers who are facing delays in onboarding by various IT companies.

Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, said, “We request IT companies to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that the recruitment process is transparent, efficient, and timely.”

“We have also urged the government to take steps to monitor and regulate the recruitment practices of these companies, to prevent further delays and ensure that freshers are not left waiting for long periods of time”, Harpreet Singh Saluja added.

Earlier, it was also reported that the IT majors Amazon, Mindtree, Wipro, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra have delayed the onboarding of employees. Apart from the delay in onboarding the companies have also laid off freshers and also reduced the salaries of Freshers employees.

Additionally, earlier, Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, an IT employees association, nearly 30,000 IT professionals have been impacted by the delay in onboarding at top IT firms like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and others.

Apart from this, Wipro has reduced the employee’s salary by 50 percent from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per annum. Wipro sacked 452 fresher employees due to poor performance. Infosys has fired 600 freshers after they fail an internal assessment test.

The concern for the fresher is worrying as even the salaries have increased marginally for freshers whereas for the CEO it has increased drastically. Reports suggest that a 45% increase in salaries over ten years is relatively low when compared to the 835% increase in CEOs’ salaries during the same period.
