During COVID-19, most companies started working from Home (WFH), since the cases declined companies resumed Work from office.

Moreover, Bengaluru has the major IT companies, and traffic problems have also been in limelight for all the wrong reasons.

There are various employees working in Bengaluru who took to Social Media Platform X (formally Twitter) requesting IT companies to declare permanent WFH.

Manisha Swarnakar’s post read, “It’s time to take action by IT companies and Govt to give WFH to the employees or find solutions to reduce the traffic ..Worst situation experienced yesterday almost took 5 hours to reach 15 km from ofc to home”

“Been saying and will say again: The best CSR IT companies can do is allow maximum WFH (wherever remote delivery model principally works) and spare the city from choked roads and traffic pollution. That coffee and team bonding is worth it only when the commute is under 30 mins avg”, another user wrote.

“WFH works for both employees & employers. During COVID times, there were no issues around productivity, and no client escalations too. In-person collaboration is important & can happen for a day or two in a week. Only hardcore Saddists call their staff to the office every day. Period!”, another user said.

BJP leader Tejasvi Surya said on Social Media Platform X (formally Twitter), “This stretch between Hoodi to Baiyappanahalli should normally take less than 10 minutes in the Metro. But take a look at how long it takes by road. This has been the plight of Bangaloreans owing to repeated postponement of deadlines by BMRCL.”

“They are dejected by these never-ending delays. What is more astounding is the State Govt’s apathy, which is dragging its feet even after CMRS has given all approvals for operational commencement. Instead of waiting for some VIP to cut a ribbon and inaugurate, let’s throw open the KR Pura-Baiyappanahalli line to commuters, say tomorrow?”, the post added.

“If govt wills, it can happen. Commuters have been patient even after many many months of delays, let’s not put them through even one extra day of ordeal. As Bangalore Development Minister, I appeal to @DKShivakumar, Sir, if officials are waiting for you to OK the commencement, let’s open this line without any further delay”, the post further said.

“Putting up a pompous inauguration ceremony of this much-delayed line will be an insult to the public, which has waited so patiently for this line”, the post concluded.
