Sun Pharmaceutical appoints Suresh Kumar Rai as SVP & CHRO

An Indian multinational pharmaceutical company, Sun Pharmaceutical has appointed Suresh Kumar Rai as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective December 7, 2023.

He will replace Dr. Sapna Purohit, Senior Vice President and Head- HR who will retire on February 29, 2024.

Suresh is known for leading with global experience in the consumer business. He is a purpose-driven global people leader with lived-in experience across diverse markets.

He is a forever learner, HR tech-data -next practice innovator. Suresh has nearly three decades of experience of impact across HR strategy, M&A, and disposals, creating high-performing organizations, and leadership pipelines, establishing agile workplaces, and building digital, data, and global capability centers.

His earlier stints include working with Unilever and Procter & Gamble. Before Sun Pharmaceutical, He was associated with Unilever as CHRO – Unilever Global Nutrition and was also part of the Unilever Global HR Leadership Team.

He has been associated with Unilever for over 25 years of association and has held several Senior Leadership roles.

Earlier, he was associated with Procter and Gamble. He holds an MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur and a B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.
