Infosys is set to mandate 03-day work from office policy very soon

India’s second-largest IT services provider company, Infosys has instructed employees to work from office (WFO) at least three days a week.

According to The Economic Times, An email was sent to employees from the vertical heads, “Please start coming to the office at least 3 days a week. It will become mandatory very shortly.”  It further clarified that except for medical reasons, employees are expected to resume regular office attendance.

Earlier in November, the company ended working from home. The change primarily affected employees categorized under Brand 5 and 6, encompassing mid-level managers, and entry-level staff.

They have been directed to work from office (WFO) a minimum of 10 days each month from office, effective from November 20, 2023.

The decision to end work from home followed when Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy suggested that Indian youngsters should work 70 hours a week. However, this statement was for Infosys employees.

Narayana Murthy stated, “If we want to compete with the fastest growing countries like China and Japan, we need to boost up our work productivity.”

Infosys has seen a dip of 7,530 in its headcount over the second quarter of FY24, taking the total headcount to 328,764. The company had 3,36,294 employees in the previous quarter.
