According to Business Insider, a multinational professional services company, Ernst & Young (EY) has started tracking office attendance amid employees defying return to office mandates in UK.

EY is currently operating with a twice-work-a-week, hybrid working model. However, the report also suggested that at least 50% of some teams are flouting this rule.

However, EY has yet to comment on the Work from office policies.

This follows when recently, IBM asked its employees in the US to return to the office, or client location immediately at least three days a week.

This policy applies to all U.S. executives and people managers, regardless of current work location status. The employees must immediately begin working from a client location or an IBM office at least three days each week.

IBM employees who are working remotely in the military service or with medical issues, and don’t live close enough to commute to work have been asked to relocate to an area closest to a company office in the US by August 1, 2024.

Other Tech companies have also ended Work From Home and started calling their employees to Work From Office. The Tech companies in India, including Wipro, TCS, HCLTech, and Infosys have already ended work from home.

Moreover,  Infosys said it won’t force employees to Return to Office but the company has implemented a roster system to ensure adequate seating capacity.

Tata Consultancy Services asked employees to work from the office 5 days a week, however, currently 65% of employees work from the office 3-5 days a week.

CEO and MD K Krithivasan said, “Our return to office policy worked well. Almost 65 percent of the associates are working from the office at least for three to five days. And we are improving the numbers.”

“We are sending positive incentives for them to come back to the office on all five days. I’m sure we’ll get there most of the employees working from office in the next couple of quarters,” he added.
