According to media reports, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) issued a final notice to remote-working employees and asked them to resume work from the office by starting March.

The company also cautioned that there may be consequences if they do not comply.

“We are exercising patience but have taken a principled stand that people have to get back to offices. We have sent the final communication to staff on this and if they do not (follow), there will be serious consequences to face,” TCS’s Chief Operating Officer, NG Subramaniam spoke to ET.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has linked promotions, salary hikes, and variable payouts to comply with its return-to-office policy.

According to media reports, the company is monitoring attendance for in-office work before rolling out promotions. Additionally, it was stated that unit heads have communicated with their teams regarding assigning grades.

Moreover, currently the company’s 65% of employees work from office 3-5 days a week.

Recently, CEO and MD K Krithivasan told to Mony Control during WEF conference 2024 “Our return to office policy worked well. Almost 65 percent of the associates are working from the office at least for three to five days. And we are improving the numbers.”

“We are sending positive incentives for them to come back to office on all five days. I’m sure we’ll get there most of the employees working from office in the next couple of quarters,” he added.

Earlier, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) ended the hybrid work policy and asked its employees to work from the office 5 days a week from October 1, 2023 onwards. Until October 1, employees were attending the office for three days a week.

TCS headcount dropped by 5,680 employees workforce stood at 603,305 as of December 31 with attrition at 13.3% for the last twelve months. The company’s workforce stood at 608,985 as of September 30, reported a dip of 6333 employees from the last quarter.
