Castrol India Appoints Kedar Lele as New Managing Director

Castrol India Limited, a prominent lubricant manufacturer, has announced a significant leadership change.

Kedar Lele, with an illustrious two-decade-long career at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), will take over as the new Managing Director of Castrol India, effective from November 1, 2024. 

Kedar’s appointment comes as the company aims to navigate the evolving automotive and lubricants industry and further strengthen its market position.

At HUL, he held the position of Executive Director, responsible for Sales & Customer Development in South Asia.

Castrol India Chairman’s Perspective

Rakesh Makhija, Chairman of Castrol India Limited, expressed his delight at welcoming Kedar Lele to the organization.

He emphasized Kedar’s ability to drive growth and lead large teams in complex markets.

Rakesh also acknowledged the exceptional leadership of outgoing Managing Director, Sandeep Sangwan, whose contributions have strengthened Castrol’s market position. 

Sandeep will now assume the role of Global Chief Marketing Officer at Castrol headquarters in London.

To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Kedar Lele has been working closely with Sandeep Sangwan since September 1, 2024.

This period allowed Kedar to gain strategic insights into Castrol India’s operations and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders. 

As Sandeep takes on his new global role, the company remains committed to sustaining its market leadership and pushing the boundaries of innovation.
