Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced a major leadership transition in its India operations, appointing Bhawna Agarwal as the new Senior Vice President and Managing Director.

Reporting directly to Heiko Meyer, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Bhawna’s appointment is effective immediately.

This transition marks a significant shift for the company as Som Satsangi, the outgoing Managing Director, retires after 27 years of dedicated service.

To ensure a smooth transition, Som will continue with HPE until July 2025, guiding operations and handing over responsibilities.

Bhawna Agarwal’s Leadership and Vision for Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Taking over as Managing Director, Bhawna Agarwal brings with her an impressive 25 years of leadership experience across diverse industries, including digital start-ups, media houses, and consumer tech companies.

Having joined HPE in 2019, Bhawna initially led the Compute Business Unit and Growth team, later advancing to oversee Account Management and Industry Verticals for India.

Her leadership style is defined by agility and a growth-focused mindset, which aligns with HPE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its market position in hybrid cloud and AI-driven solutions.

As she steps into her new role, Bhawna aims to build on the solid foundation laid by Som.

She plans to scale HPE’s impact in India, ensuring continued success in cloud and enterprise solutions while fostering stronger customer engagement and operational agility.

Her appointment is seen as a strategic move that positions HPE India for sustained growth and innovation in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Som Satsangi’s Legacy at HPE

Som Satsangi has been an integral part of HPE’s journey, contributing to its strategic growth and market expansion in India.

He first joined Compaq in 1997, which later merged with HP in 2002, and steadily climbed the corporate ranks.

As Managing Director of HPE India since 2016, he led the company’s second-largest employee base globally, reinforcing HPE’s commitment to technological innovation and operational excellence.

Under his leadership, HPE achieved several milestones, including the expansion of enterprise sales, advancements in cloud computing and AI solutions, and the successful execution of the “Make in India” initiative, where the company celebrated its 6001st ‘Made in India’ server.

His ability to drive strategic growth and enhance customer relations has left a lasting impact on HPE’s presence in India.
