Jindal Power Limited (JPL), one of India’s leading energy companies, has appointed Veerendra Vainsla as its new Head – Human Resources.

The announcement, made in August 2025, marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its workforce strategy and operational efficiency.

Veerendra brings over 17 years of experience in human resource management across automotive, engineering, and energy sectors, and is expected to lead JPL’s HR transformation during a critical phase of expansion and modernization.

A Career Built on Operational Depth and Strategic HR

Veerendra Vainsla’s professional journey reflects a deep engagement with both strategic and operational aspects of human resources.

Prior to joining Jindal Power, he served as Assistant General Manager – HR at MAT Holdings Inc., where he oversaw strategic HR operations, industrial relations, and workforce management.

His earlier roles include Senior HR Head at Varel Energy Solutions, where he played a key role in organizational development, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and large-scale workforce transitions.

Veerendra’s longest tenure was at Sabohema Automotive Private Limited, where he worked for nearly 12 years as Deputy General Manager – HR.

During this period, he led HR transformation initiatives, developed compliance frameworks, managed compensation structures, and oversaw plant-level HR operations.

His work contributed to shaping a resilient organizational culture and aligning HR practices with business goals.

He also held HR roles at Tube Investments of India Ltd., LPS Group, Caparo Engineering India Ltd., and Kajaria Ceramics Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in employee relations, statutory compliance, payroll, audits, and manpower planning.

Academic Foundation and HR Specialization

Veerendra is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, where he completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (PGCHRM).

His academic focus included organizational behavior, HR strategy, change management, performance management systems, labor laws, and HR analytics.

He also holds a law degree from Jaipur School of Law, adding legal insight to his HR leadership.

This combination of academic grounding and practical experience positions him well to lead JPL’s human capital strategy, especially as the company navigates evolving workforce expectations and regulatory frameworks.

About Jindal Power Limited

Established in 2007, Jindal Power Limited operates with an installed capacity of 4300 MW across thermal and renewable energy sources.

It was the first company in India to set up an Independent Power Plant (IPP) at Tamnar, Chhattisgarh.

JPL has since expanded to Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, contributing significantly to India’s energy security.

The company is focusing on sustainability, community welfare, and technological innovation.

With Veerendra’s appointment, JPL aims to reinforce its commitment to building a future-ready workforce capable of supporting its long-term vision.
