Shoppers Stop Appoints Nabamita Banerjee as CHRO

Shoppers Stop, part of the K Raheja Corp Group, has announced the appointment of Nabamita Banerjee as Customer Care Associate & Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), effective September 1.

With this appointment, the retail major strengthens its leadership team to drive people strategy, culture transformation, and business growth in a highly competitive market.

Extensive Experience & Career Journey

Nabamita brings over 18 years of rich experience in human resources, spanning IT, retail, and quick-service restaurant (QSR) sectors.

Her expertise covers business partnering, talent management, organisational development, compensation and benefits, HR operations, inclusion and diversity, and change management.

Most recently, she was Head of Human Resources at Tata Starbucks, where she successfully shaped HR strategy, strengthened people development initiatives, and nurtured a culture of engagement and inclusivity.

Her career at Starbucks India spanned more than a decade, during which she took on progressively senior roles including Senior Manager and Lead–Human Resources. In 2020, she was elevated to Head of HR, leading workforce transformation and aligning HR practices with business goals.

Before her long stint at Starbucks, she worked with the Apparel Group in Dubai, overseeing HR operations, policy design, compensation planning, and employee relations for an expansive portfolio of over 600 stores and 50 international brands.

She began her professional journey at Patni Computer Systems, where she contributed to building offshore HR processes, frameworks, and rewards practices for a workforce of nearly 800 employees.

Banerjee holds an MBA -Human Resources from Welingkar Institute of Management and a BE in Electronics and Communication from LD College of Engineering.

With her deep HR expertise and cross-industry experience, Banerjee is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Shoppers Stop’s people-first culture and enabling long-term business success.
