Ashok Kumar Kalra appointed as Director- HR, EIL

Ashok Kumar Kalra appointed as Director- HR, (EIL) Engineers India Limited. He replaces VC Bhandari who retires as Director- Human Resources.

Engineers India Limited (EIL) is a design and engineering company in the field of petroleum refineries, petrochemicals, oil and gas processing, offshore structures and platforms, fertilizers, metallurgy, and power. 

Prior to this promotion, Ashok has been as Executive Director- Human Resources, EIL. According to the order from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Kalra has been appointed on EIL board for a period with effect from March 1, till the date of his superannuation i.e. September 30, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

Ashok was recommended for the Director position by a PESB panel on August 1, 2019. He was selected from the pool of six candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel.

He worked in various projects in the field of Refineries, Petrochemicals, Pipelines, Infrastructure, etc. After working for more than 21 years in Projects and Construction, he has been associated with the HR directorate since 2007. He has experience in various facets of HR functions such as- manpower planning, talent acquisition, talent development, performance management, compensation & benefits, policy formulations, grievance redressal, welfare, administration, training, industrial relations, talent retention, etc.

Kalra is an engineering graduate from REC Rourkela. He had started his career as a site engineer in Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. He had joined EIL in January 1992.
