Eveready Industries appoints Sandeep Banerjee as CHRO

Eveready Industries appoints Sandeep Banerjee as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, he will be responsible to lead the HR function for the battery, flashlight, and appliance solutions company in India.

Before joining Eveready, most recently he was associated with H & R JOHNSON (INDIA) – PRISM JOHNSON LIMITED as President HR for more than 4 years.

Sandeep has more than 26 years of professional experience in the end-to-end HR domain. His Experience in HR/IR spreads across diverse sectors such as Light Engineering, Heavy Industry (Steel Pipes), Pharmaceutical (Bulk Drug and Formulations) Services & Hospitality (Hotels), Aviation, Fashion, Sports, & Convention Centre and diverse Corporate Functions.

He has vast exposure to Lead the HR function Globally in multi-cultural environments in MNCs and Large Indian Enterprises. Having the unique distinction of leading HR in Manufacturing and also in the Services sector, Sandeep has the ability to bring the best of both worlds and ensure implementation of Best Practices. Hiring the Right Talent, Nurturing the Talent in required skills, Appreciating and Recognising Efforts, Aligning HR to the Business Goals, and Leading from the front has been synonymous with his leadership style.

During his career, Banerjee has worked with various organizations in the field of HR and IR. He started working with Elektriska Svetsnings-Aktiebolaget (ESAB), which is a Swedish multinational manufacturer of welding and cutting equipment.

After working with EASB, Banerjee joined Electrosteel Casting as a personnel manager, a company that manufactures spun pipes and ductile pipes. Moving from this company, Banerjee joined the pharmaceuticals sector, with Organon.

In 2004, he joined Orient Electrics as the head of HR. He was leading the HR operations for two manufacturing units in Kolkata and Faridabad. He worked with orient for a year.

Banerjee worked with Taj Hotels as its HR Manager. He worked with Taj for nearly 10 years. He climbed up the corporate ladder. His last position with Taj was the director – HR at Vivanta by Taj.

After Taj, he moved to Reliance Industries as VP-HR, where he headed the corporate function for its aviation, luxury retail as well as fashion and sports business.

Banerjee is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad.
