Qyuki CEO Samir Bangara Passed Away

Samir Bangara, the co-founder and CEO of digital music platform Qyuki Digital Media, died in a road accident on Sunday morning. According to the police, Bangara’s superbike collided with a truck near Haloli in Manor on the Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway.

Samir Bangara had founded Qyuki along with Shekhar Kapoor and AR Rahman. He was a former Managing Director of Disney UTV. He is survived with his wife and two children.

Sagar Gokhale, co-founder, and COO of Qyuki, said in a statement to the employees, “We are all in a state of complete and utter despair and words will do no justice to express this loss. But it is our duty to absorb this shock for now so that we can be there for each other, especially for his family, just the way Samir would have liked us to,”

AR Rahman tweeted, “We lost our friend, visionary commander in chief and a super good human being… RIP”
