Akasa Air, India’s fastest growing airline, has significantly expanded its workforce in the financial year 2023-24 (FY24), hiring 1,400 new employees and increasing its total workforce to 3,800.

This rapid expansion is part of the airline’s strategy to strengthen its operations and support its growing network.

Akasa Air Rapid Growth and Expansion

Since its inception in August 2022, Akasa Air has been on a mission to become a major player in the Indian aviation market.

The airline has seen impressive growth, with its revenue soaring to ₹3,069.58 crore in FY24, a fourfold increase from the previous year.

Despite the financial challenges, including a net loss of ₹1,670 crore, Akasa Air remains committed to its expansion plans.

Akasa Air’s CFO, Ankur Goyal mentioned the hiring of 1,400 new employees, bringing the total workforce to 3,800.

This expansion includes pilots, flight attendants, and other operational staff, reflecting the airline’s commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining a competitive edge in the market.

The airline’s focus on employee training and development has been a key factor in its rapid growth.

As of March 31 2024, Akasa Air achieved several milestones, the airline had a fleet of 24 aircraft and operated 110 flights daily.

The airline’s on-time performance and customer service have earned it a reputation as one of the most dependable and affordable airlines in India.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Akasa Air plans to continue its growth trajectory by increasing its capacity by 50-55% in FY25.

The airline aims to further expand its fleet and explore international routes, with a focus on improving revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) and achieving financial sustainability.

The airline’s long-term vision includes becoming a leading player in the Indian aviation market. Additionally, it aims to expand its services to international destinations.

Akasa Air’s rapid expansion and workforce growth in FY24 highlight its commitment to becoming a major player in the Indian aviation industry.

With a focus on employee development, operational excellence, and strategic growth, the airline is well-positioned to achieve its goals and provide exceptional service to its passengers.
