EPFO has increased the limit for advance claims processed automatically to ₹1 lakh. Earlier, only medical-related claims were allowed under this system, but now housing, education, and marriage advances are also included.
As a result, 60% of these claims are now settled automatically within three days. EPFO reached a record high of 2.16 crore auto-claims processed as of March 6, 2025, compared to 89.52 lakh in the previous financial year.

Simplified Member Services
Members with Aadhaar-verified UANs can now update their details without EPFO’s involvement. Currently, 96% of corrections happen without visiting an EPFO office.
Additionally, more than 99.31% of claims are now submitted online, reducing the need for field office visits. In transfer claims, employer attestation is no longer required for most Aadhaar-verified UANs, with only 10% still needing verification.
Also, members with KYC-compliant UANs meeting specific conditions no longer have to submit a canceled cheque with their claim form.
Improved Security and Database Management
EPFO has introduced a de-linking feature for members whose accounts were wrongly or fraudulently linked to an establishment. Since its launch on January 18, 2025, over 55,000 members have de-linked their accounts by the end of February 2025.
To prevent ineligible claims, the system now provides notifications about eligibility before a request is submitted. Additionally, EPFO is improving the claim settlement process by centralizing member databases under the Centralized IT Enabled System (CITES 2.01).
These updates were shared by the Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
