Meta is set to revolutionize its hiring process by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist recruiters and evaluate human interviewers.

According to internal documents accessed by Business Insider, the company is developing an AI system that will test candidates’ coding abilities, suggest interview questions, and match applicants with suitable interviewers.

What stands out in this initiative is Meta’s plan to allow AI to judge the quality of human interviewers, flagging inappropriate or non-inclusive questions and analyzing the usefulness of their feedback.

The system is expected to be implemented in the second half of 2025, aiming to streamline hiring, reduce paperwork, and enhance consistency.

AI’s Role in Meta Hiring Process

Meta’s AI-driven hiring system will perform several key functions:

  • Candidate Assessment: The AI will test coding skills and suggest relevant interview questions based on the applicant’s profile.
  • Interviewer Matching: The system will pair candidates with suitable interviewers, ensuring a better hiring experience.
  • Scheduling and Tracking: AI will manage interview schedules and track interviewers’ skills, including their language proficiency.
  • Interviewer Evaluation: The AI will assess human interviewers, flagging inappropriate or non-inclusive questions and analyzing their feedback quality.

Meta aims to use AI for behind-the-scenes hiring tasks, allowing interviews to run more smoothly and efficiently.

Meta’s Justification for AI Integration

A Meta spokesperson informed Business Insider that AI will be used to accelerate and streamline the hiring process.

However, human recruiters will continue to play a vital role in conducting interviews and assessing candidates.

The company believes that AI will help standardize recruitment, ensuring fairness and efficiency while reducing bias in hiring decisions.

Meta is not alone in exploring AI-driven recruitment.

Amazon already uses AI tools to shortlist candidates and match them with suitable roles, while IBM has replaced 200 HR roles with AI agents as part of its automation strategy.
