An audit, consulting, advisory, and tax services firm, Deloitte India to open its technology development centre in BMC Tower, Bhubaneswar by November.

Deloitte has not commented on the recruitment process. But it is expected that the company will initially recruit more than 1,000 people.

The company’s expected hiring will be for various positions from Information Technology, Auditing, Consultancy, Knowledge Services, etc. This will create job opportunities for the locals.

Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The centres will open up new vistas for youth and strengthen the skill ecosystem.”

“It is satisfying that Deloitte is betting big on opportunities in India as well as on the country’s talent pool”, Dharmendra Pradhan added.

The company has rented 40,000 sq ft area in the tower to start its operation. 5T Secretary VK Pandian today made an Instagram post which indicates that the London-headquartered firm is going to start operations from the BMC Tower in November this year.

“The State government was in talks with several consulting and IT majors for the last six months. Some of them including Deloitte, have expressed interest to set up their business centres in the city,” sources said.

Deloitte will be the first global brand to open its office in Bhubaneswar after the new IT Policy 2022. The company is operationalizing a large technology development centre in Bhubaneswar and Coimbatore.
