A global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, Infosys has inaugurated a development center (DC) at the Mihan-SEZ in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The new state-of-the-art development center (DC) will accommodate over 3,000 employees. The company has invested over INR 230 crore in the development of this facility, which will provide greater flexibility for employees to work in a hybrid mode and enable re-skilling and up-skilling of local talent.

Moreover, the development center will also give employees the opportunity to work on next-gen technologies like cloud, AI, and digital across multiple industries, such as telecommunications, banking, retail, aerospace, automobile, logistics, and manufacturing, among others. The campus is spread across 265,000 sq.ft.

Nilanjan Roy, Chief Financial Officer, Infosys, said, “The inauguration of the development center in Nagpur is a part of our commitment towards continuous innovation.”

“We believe that this center will contribute to the growth of businesses, create direct and indirect job opportunities, promote sustainability and ecosystem development, and give an impetus to local and global businesses through its cutting-edge solutions and services”, Nilanjan Roy added.

Recently, the company has instructed employees to work from office (WFO) at least three days a week.

An email was sent to employees from the vertical heads, “Please start coming to the office at least 3 days a week. It will become mandatory very shortly.”  It further clarified that except for medical reasons, employees are expected to resume regular office attendance.

Earlier in November, the company ended working from home. The change primarily affected employees categorized under Brand 5 and 6, encompassing mid-level managers, and entry-level staff.

Infosys has seen a dip of 7,530 in its headcount over the second quarter of FY24, taking the total headcount to 328,764. The company had 3,36,294 employees in the previous quarter.
