Infosys Opened New Kolkata Development Center for 4,000 People

On December 18, Infosys, a global IT and consulting leader, opened a 320,000-square-foot development center in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Built with an investment exceeding INR 426 crore, the facility is designed to host over 4,000 employees in a hybrid work model.

It will support work on advanced technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital solutions, serving industries like manufacturing, logistics, finance, and energy.

Launch Ceremony and Key Attendees

The center was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee, accompanied by state officials, including IT Minister Mr. Babul Supriyo and Finance Minister Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya.

Senior Infosys executives, such as Chief Financial Officer Mr. Jayesh Sanghrajka and Chief Delivery Officer Mr. Dinesh Rao, also attended the event.

The New Kolkata Development Center shows Infosys’ ongoing commitment to enhancing West Bengal’s IT infrastructure and fostering partnerships with the state government.

Environmentally Friendly and Employee-Centered Design

Built to high green building standards, the center emphasizes sustainability with features like energy-efficient cooling, smart building systems, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater recycling.

Employee facilities include flexible workspaces, training rooms, and wellness centers, ensuring a productive and supportive work environment.

Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee praised Infosys’ investment, highlighting its potential to boost innovation, create jobs, and strengthen the state’s IT ecosystem.

Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka emphasized the company’s dedication to developing local talent and driving progress in India’s IT landscape.
