The world’s largest professional network company, LinkedIn has renewed its attempt to remove fake accounts from the platform.

These accounts used profile descriptions and images that were edited or forged and taken from actual employees. These accounts were fake and were due to bot problems. Post the checks it was so widespread that large firms reported their staff counts were considerably reduced.

According to reports, fraudulent behavior had been on the rise. These account holders with fake accounts were claiming to be members of groups. However, post the check it was found that they were not part of the organization.

The company only provided a statement in response to queries, indicating that it was constantly working to maintain the platform clear of fake accounts, the report said.

Apple’s website reportedly describing diversity initiatives has a lower non-specific figure sourced from 2021 — “more than 165, 000 talented employees.”

Research revealed that the fake account and bot problem is so widespread that large firms reported their staff counts were considerably reduced. For instance, in only one day, Apple’s LinkedIn account count decreased from 576,562 to 284,991
