An innovative global healthcare company, Sanofi has launched a global program ‘Cancer & Work: Acting Together’ to support Sanofi employees whose lives are impacted by cancer and other critical illnesses.

If any Sanofi employee worldwide is diagnosed with cancer or critical illnesses, they are eligible for coverage under this program.

The program aims to provide managers with enhanced tools and resources to effectively support team members who are impacted by cancer.

The program offers comprehensive support, including social, emotional, and financial assistance. It guarantees job security and maintains salary and benefits for up to twelve months, irrespective of the employee’s role or geographical location.

Natalie Bickford, Chief People Officer, Sanofi said, “I am delighted that Sanofi has gone further, guaranteeing job security and salary continuation for at least a year after diagnosis.”

“Today, we also support every Sanofi employee facing cancer by training a global network of affinity groups who can provide safe spaces, and by helping managers understand the challenges their team members may be facing, and how best to approach them for reassurance and support”, Natalie Bickford added.

Moreover, the company’s affected employees also have round-the-clock access to external psychological support through the Employee Assistance Program in all countries.

Furthermore, Sanofi plans to introduce coverage for various non-medical expenses throughout 2024. Additionally, permanent Sanofi employees will have the opportunity to take an unpaid caregiver leave, enabling them to fulfill their caregiving responsibilities for a close family member who is diagnosed with a critical illness*.

*Specific criteria identifying the conditions and circumstances that are eligible for coverage under this program might be governed by the terms and conditions of country-specific policies or legal requirements.
