Santrupt Misra ex-Aditya Birla HR leader contests Lok Sabha election

Dr. Santrupt Misra, former CEO of Birla Carbon; Director, Chemicals; and Director, Group-HR for the Aditya Birla Group who took early retirement in December 2023 joined Biju Janata Dal Odisha (BJD), a political party in Odisha.

On March 17, 2024, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) unveiled its initial candidate roster for the upcoming Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections, setting the stage for notable political battles.

Dr. Misra took social media, X (erstwhile known as Twitter), and announced that he is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Cuttack Lok Sabha constituency.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Misra said, “Jay Jagannath, Jay Maa Katakchandi! With the divine grace of Lord Jagannath and blessings from Maa Katakchandi, esteemed Chief Minister and BJD President Shri Naveen Patnaik has nominated me as the MP candidate for Cuttack Lok Sabha constituency. With this, I dedicate my entire life to serving the people of Cuttack and Odisha.”

Santrupt Misra is a prominent figure in the corporate world. He is known for his significant roles in various companies, particularly in the Aditya Birla Group.

Throughout his career, Misra has been recognized for his contributions to the field of human resources and leadership.

He has been involved in driving organizational change, fostering talent development, and promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.

His earlier stints in the corporate world include working with Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and Straw Products (JK Organization).

Dr. Misra holds two postgraduate degrees in Political Science and Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, respectively.

In addition, also he holds two PhDs, from India & UK, in Public Administration and Industrial Relations, respectively & an honorary D.Sc degree from Aston University, UK.
