HCL Tech, Noida employee tests positive

An employee of HCL Technologies, Noida has tested positive for Coronavirus, the company confirmed in a statement. The infected employee with COVID-19 had developed a mild cough and was asked by the doctors to practice self-isolation for the past 14 days.

HCL Technologies spokesperson said, “Unfortunately, one employee from our Noida office has been tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus while he was in self-isolation after his return from international travel and hence our office is following all government and health advisory protocols. All prescribed protocols of sanitization and contact tracing have been done. The employee is currently in an isolation ward and all measures are being taken to provide the best medical care to him and support to his family,”

The HCL spokesperson further said that all the necessary protocols of sanitization and contact tracing are being followed by the company.

HCL has invoked a COVID-19 contingency plan for all geographies which aims at maximizing Work from Home to aid social distancing and also issued a Travel Advisory across the company, taking full precautionary measures and suspending all non-essential travel until further notice.”

According to the HCL statement, all the employees of the company working in the Noida facility are in good health.

IT and BPO companies that employ a huge workforce have been asking employees to work from home as a means to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
