Infosys to resume deferred promotions of junior and mid-level employees in September

Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services firm, is all set to offer promotions to mid and junior-level (around 2.4 Lakh) employees by September 2020.

According to an ET report, “Promotions will mainly be given to junior and mid-level employees, which were deferred in April due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. However the compensation revision, we have put on hold,” said Krish Shankar, Group Head- Human resources at Infosys.

“Some of the promotions, we are going to start, this quarter. Promotions are also linked to where there are vacancies,” Krish added.

Krish further said, “For senior level employees, we will continue to evaluate promotions as the business situation evolves.”

Infosys will start lateral hiring for senior roles in key digital skills beginning this quarter, Shankar told the media without divulging specific numbers.

Earlier in the month of July this year, professional services firm PwC India has said it will announce promotions, compensation revisions and bonus payouts for employees on October 1, 2020.

And in the same moth Capgemini has rolled out wage hikes and promotions for all its employees in India
