Telangana reserves 95% govt jobs for locals

Telangana has got approval for its policy to recruit 95% locals in government jobs. The state government has announced the approval by the Union Government of its new zonal system of Telangana for the recruitment of staff for state government services.

Any new recruitment from today will be as per the new zonal system comprising seven zones and two multi-zones. The biggest takeaway from the new zonal system is ensuring 95% of jobs to local candidates.

As per a notification, two ‘multi-Zones’, which include seven zones, were created for all departments except the police department.

Police Department had been organised into two separate multi-zones, with its own list of seven zones, which include all police commissionerates and district police headquarters.

The Ministry of Home Affairs released a gazette notification, which said that the Telangana Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadre and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) 2018 had been amended and would be called Telangana Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadre and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Amendment Order, 2021.
