Unlock 3 Guidelines: No night curfew from 1 August 2020

Unlock 3 guidelines declared, yoga institutes and gymnasiums to open from 5 August 2020

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued fresh guidelines for UNLOCK-3, to relax the lockdown restrictions in areas outside containment zones amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. Effective from 1 August 2020.

No Relaxation:

  • Schools, colleges, metro rail service, cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, theatres, auditoriums, and other social gathering places will remain closed till 31 August 2020.
  • Social/political/sports/entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions and other large congregations are still not allowed.
  •  At weddings, the number of guests should not exceed 50.
  • In funeral and last rites related gatherings, the number of people should not be more than 20.

Relaxation:

  • The Government has allowed the opening of yoga institutes and gymnasiums from 5th August 2020 with a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Night curfews imposed in the country, now be removed, starting 1 August 2020
  • Independence Day functions will be allowed with social distancing and by following other health protocols, such as wearing masks, etc.
  • There shall be no restrictions on intra-state or inter-state of people or goods across the country.
  • International air travel has been permitted in a phased manner under the Vande Bharat Mission.

The government also said the new guidelines issued today are based on feedback received over time by authorities and chief ministers of states and Union Territories. The use of the Aarogya Setu mobile application will continue to be encouraged.

According to the order, lockdown in containment zones will remain imposed till 31 August 2020. And These virus containment zones need to be carefully demarcated by the state governments or UTs.
