IIT graduate lost his job says “Jo hota hai aache k liye hi hota hai”:  Byju’s Layoffs

An Indian multinational educational technology company, Byju’s has laid off nearly 1,500 employees in a fresh round of layoffs.

The layoffs have affected employees from mainly the design, engineering, and production verticals. Abhishek Ashish a Software Engineer at BYJU’S has also been laid off by the company. He graduated from IIT and this was his first job.

He shared a LinkedIn post saying, “Yesterday, My role as a Software Engineer along with many other talented and amazing people was impacted by the second round of layoffs at BYJU’s where they have decided to reduce their workforce again majorly affecting Engineering and Product roles.”

“As an employee at BYJU’s, I worked in the Android framework development team. I have got the chance to work with many amazing, hardworking, and talented folks there and definitely I will be missing a lot working with them including @Chaitanya,Ashwath Gatty,Bhavana Hegde,Paritosh Wankhade,Saket Gupta and many others”, he added.

He further added, “Overall it has been a great journey here for me full of learning and growth. Just keeping in mind “Jo hota hai aache k liye hi hota hai” and moving on in life to look at what it holds for me and look for new challenges. I am open to work and looking for opportunities in the Software Engineering field. If anyone is hiring or has any openings and can refer me, if not then also I would love to connect and attaching my resume below for reference.”

“I am a young and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer with a solid background in Advanced Data Structures, Object-oriented programming, and Database Management Systems, and a strong passion for Mathematics & Aptitude, willing to work and learn in a competitive environment and get hands-on experience in programming and master my current skills and learn new skills. I have excellent coding skills and am proficient in C++, Java, Python.  JavaScript, MongoDB and PostgreSQL. I have done various projects in Web and Android development”, he said.
