Marc Llistosella CEO-designate of Tata Motors will not join company

Marc Llistosella who was named as the new CEO & MD of Tata Motors effective from July 1, 2021 will not be joining the company, N Chandershekran, Chairman, Tata Motors, said in a surprise statement.

The statement further added that Marc is not able to relocate to India for personal reasons at this point of time. The current MD and CEO Guenter Butschek who has informed his desire to relocate to Germany at the end of his contract has accepted the request of the Board to continue till June 30, 2021.

Tata Motors had announced the appointment of Marc Llistosella last month on February 12, he was most recently the President and CEO of Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation and Head of Daimler Trucks in Asia where he worked on improving the profitability and sales potential of the business.

He is currently on the board of Swedish transport company Einride which specializes in electric and self-driving vehicles.
