KPMG India Appoints Hemant Jhajhria as Head of Consulting

KPMG in India has announced the appointment of Hemant Jhajhria as Partner and Head of Consulting. 

Before joining KPMG, Hemant held the position of Managing Director & Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Commenting on Hemant’s appointment Yezdi Nagporewalla, CEO, KPMG in India expressed his confidence.

“We see immense potential in the consulting market and are committed to driving value and innovation for our clients by offering our specialist services,” Yezdi said.

He added, “We are thrilled to welcome Hemant as our new Head of Consulting and to our leadership team in India.”

Hemant Jhajhria, expressed his enthusiasm on his appointment as Head of Consulting at KPMG in India.

Roles and Responsibilities

Hemant Jhajhria’s mandate at KPMG includes integrating the firm’s extensive suite of services to create comprehensive solutions tailored to clients’ needs.

By combining business, technology, and risk consulting, KPMG aims to address complex challenges faced by organizations across sectors.

As part of the India Leadership Team (ILT), Hemant will play a crucial role in shaping KPMG’s strategic direction in India.

His expertise will contribute to the ILT’s decision-making processes and drive the firm’s growth agenda.

Background and Expertise

Hemant Jhajhria brings over 24 years of experience in strategy consulting and business management.

His track record includes advising financial services clients, large conglomerates, digital fintech start-ups, and private equity and venture capital firms.

Before joining KPMG, Hemant held the position of Managing Director & Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

His ability to orchestrate multi-year transformation engagements across operations, risk, technology, and analytics was instrumental in building high-functioning teams.

Notably, he successfully closed substantial deals with significant annuity revenues during his tenure at BCG.

Hemant is an early adopter and proponent of generative AI (Gen AI).

His forward-thinking approach has led to the development of cutting-edge propositions for clients across Asia.

Gen AI, with its ability to learn and adapt, is poised to revolutionize business strategies and decision-making processes.

As the Marketing Chair for BCG India, Hemant played a pivotal role in shifting the market narrative for the firm.

His strategic insights and communication skills contributed to BCG’s positioning and thought leadership in the consulting industry.

Hemant’s career began at Citigroup, where he spent over a decade in various leadership roles.

His responsibilities spanned consumer banking, wealth management, lending, and digital businesses.

This diverse experience equipped him with a holistic understanding of financial services and operational dynamics.
