Infosys Ramps Up Lateral Hiring with Cash Referral Bonuses

Infosys has launched an aggressive lateral hiring campaign across its Indian development centers, offering cash referral bonuses to employees who successfully recommend candidates.

The move signals a renewed demand for experienced tech professionals and comes at a time when other industry players are scaling back recruitment efforts.

Cash Incentives for Employee Referrals

In an internal communication to staff, Infosys announced a tiered cash reward system for successful referrals. Employees can earn:

  • ₹10,000 for job level 3
  • ₹25,000 for job level 4
  • ₹35,000 for job level 5
  • ₹50,000 for job level 6

These incentives apply to roles in engineering, quality assurance, strategic technology groups, and enterprise application integration and services.

The company is targeting professionals with two to fifteen years of experience, depending on the position.

Candidates must not have been part of Infosys’s hiring process in the past six months to qualify.

Infosys Strategic Hiring Push Ahead of Q2 Results

The hiring drive comes just ahead of Infosys’s Q2 FY26 earnings announcement, scheduled for October 16, 2025.

Analysts suggest the timing reflects the company’s confidence in business growth and its need to scale delivery capabilities.

Infosys is also inviting senior employees to participate in campus recruitment for digital specialist roles, further expanding its talent pipeline.

This lateral hiring push contrasts sharply with rival Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has reportedly paused lateral hiring after onboarding 650 employees last month and laying off 12,000 staff—about 2% of its workforce.

Focus on Mid-Career Professionals and Niche Skills

Infosys is specifically looking for mid-career professionals with expertise in emerging technologies such as blockchain, VOIP, aerospace systems, and enterprise software.

The company has identified Bengaluru and Hyderabad as key hiring hubs, though positions are open across multiple locations.

The emphasis on niche skills and experienced candidates suggests Infosys is preparing for complex client demands and digital transformation projects.

By leveraging employee networks and offering cash rewards, the company aims to accelerate hiring without relying solely on external recruitment channels.
