The government has a Face-Recognition technology system based on the Aadhar database that will help in getting the Life certificate.

This will allow anyone with an Android-based smartphone to submit their DLC (digital life certificate). The EPFO has recently shared a tweet saying, “How to get Jeevan Pramaan through Face Authentication? #EPFO #SocialSecurity #AmritMahotsav #FaceAuthentication #easeofliving2022

Steps to get a life certificate through Face Authentication.

  • Keep Aadhar number registered with Pension Disbursing Authority (Bank/Post Office/others) ready.
  • Download and Install AadharFaceRd App from google play store.
  • Download and Install Jeevan Pension Face Application from http://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/package/download.
  • Carry out operator authentication and scan face of operator ( Pension can be operated also).
  • Fill the pension details.
  • Submit after capturing photographs from the front camera.

You will receive a message on the mobile number with a link for downloading DLC (Jeevan Pramaan). For more details visit the EPFO website (https://www.epfindia.gov.in/).

Employees can also avail of various facilities available on Digilocker:-

  • UAN Card
  • Pension Payment order (PPO)
  • Scheme Certificate

Earlier, The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation had also warned its members not to share critical details about their EPF account, personal information, or OTP over the phone or online. It had announced this due to the growing threat of EPF-related OTP scams and other issues, also to minimize fraud.

They also warned by saying, “EPFO never asks its members to share their personal details like Aadhaar, PAN, UAN, Bank Account or OTP over the phone or on social media.”

EPF members should not share personal information like their Aadhaar card number, PAN, bank account number, or UAN number with anybody on WhatsApp or social media, according to the EPFO advice, because they risk losing their money.

EPFO has also been informed to be “ALERT Beware of Fraudsters!” to alert members to the danger they may be facing. In case of any query, EPFO members can login to the official website of EPFO at epfindia.gov.in.
