The company offers Diverse and Inclusive culture by offering teams more flexibility on where to work etc, Recently the company has announced 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the Amazon employees.

The company said, “Here’s the fine print behind our fully paid leave-

  • We offer 20 weeks of fully paid leave for birthing parents, including four weeks before the baby is born.
  • We offer six weeks of fully paid leave to supporting parents and adoptive parents.
  • Our Leave Share program allows employees to give six weeks of paid parental leave to a spouse or partner whose jobs don’t provide paid leave.
  • With flexible scheduling and part-time options, our Ramp Back program helps employees through the challenge of coming back to work after a new baby.
  • Employees are eligible if they have one year of continuous service and are regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week before their child arrives.

“Our parental leave benefits are a part of our broader benefits package that we provide hourly employees to improve health and well-being. This includes health care that starts on day one for employees and their families, 401(k) plans with company match, and fully-funded college tuition.” It said the company in a statement.

According to media reports, Amazon on May 15, 2020, reported that in total it has created over 11.6 lakh direct and indirect jobs in India so far. Besides, the company is on the target of creating 20 lakh direct and indirect jobs by 2025.

“We have cumulatively created over 11.6 lakh jobs, enabled nearly $5 billion in exports, and digitised over 40 lakh MSMEs in India,” said Manish Tiwary, Country Manager, India Consumer Business Amazon India.
