Ex-Amazon employee landed with 30% hike after being laid off

The e-commerce giant, Amazon earlier in January announced 18,000 layoffs globally to cut costs. One of the Ex-Amazon employee Arideep Dutta shared his experience of getting multiple job offers after being laid off.

He was Software Development Engineer at Amazon and started working with the organization in April 2022 and worked till March 2023.

Arideep Dutta, an Ex-Amazon employee shared a LinkedIn saying, “Post Layoff or blessing in disguise who knows?”

“Yes, I was laid off from Amazon, my dream company. After that, the journey to get the next offer was a roller coaster ride for me”, his post said.

The post further said, “And at last, I ended up having multiple offers from various PBCs like Flipkart, Nutanix, etc. with a 30-40% hike even in this recession… How? I have discussed this whole journey along with Riddhi in a podcast.”

“The link is shared in the comment section. Hope this video will actually help you in this time of recession to stay positive and motivated”, the post added.

He initially took a short break by attending his cousin’s wedding. Post this he, come back to Bengaluru and started to find another job.

“After coming back from my cousin’s wedding, the first two weeks I spent preparing a strategy for job application”, he said.

Arideep said that he was mentally prepared for being laid off and he spent preparing for interviews for helping him land a good job. The whole video is available on youtube and can be seen by a Click here.

He holds his Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science from Jabalpur Engineering College and started working with TCS as a System Engineer.
