India’s second-largest IT major, Infosys will soon be resuming its work from office in a three-phased manner.

Infosys currently employs 3,45,218 employees as of September 30, 2022. The company communicated with its employees by saying that it is going to adopt a ‘three-phase work from office plan’. The three phases include:-

  • In its first phase plan, the company would allow employees to “come to the office twice a week based as per their convenience.”
  • Followed by its second phase in which the employees would be allowed transfer or relocate to a branch office of their choice.
  • Finally, Infosys in its final phase would involve the company drawing feedback from both the previous phases. So that the company can determine its hybrid-work policy.

According to Business Today, Krishnamurthy Shankar, Executive Vice President and Group Head of Human Resources, at Infosys said, “Their approach will allow flexibility to employees and is not a “one-size-fits-all approach.”

He also said, “It will be exciting to see how our teams will explore their own return to office plans by creatively and pragmatically blending project and business imperatives along with collective working convenience.”

Earlier, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said that the company will continue its flexible approach, Infosys is not setting any days for employees to work from the office the current work model has worked well for the company.

Salil Parekh said last month, “My feeling is that over time we will provide all the necessary support to employees so that more and more employees can return to work.”

“Of course, there are several customer situations that require specific action. Those will be followed according to customer requirements, but where we can provide some flexibility, we will continue to provide flexibility,” he had said.

Earlier, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) took a strict stand on WFO and sent emails to employees asking them to work from office at least 03 days a week.

Under the company ‘Return to Office’ initiative, all TCSers were expected to work from the office at least 3 days a week based on the roster system.
