According to reports, an American social media company, Twitter has sacked nearly 100 employees after employees Didn’t See Musk’s Email at the Weekend.

Some Twitter employees lost access to work systems after they failed to sign Elon Musk’s anti-leaking pledge on Saturday because they didn’t check their emails over the weekend.

Musk wrote in his Friday email saying: “As evidenced by the many detailed leaks of confidential Twitter information, a few people at our company continue to act in a manner contrary to the company’s interests and in violation of their NDA.”

The employees were provided time till 5 p.m. on Saturday to sign a pledge. The reports suggest that some staff didn’t respond to the pledge because they weren’t looking at their emails over the weekend. Post this the employees on Sunday discovered that they were unable to access company systems.

However, currently, it is unclear whether all of the 100 staff failed to check their emails at the weekend, or whether some simply refused to sign the pledge.

Currently, the company has sent another email about the pledge to its workforce. The deadline that the employees have been provided is until December 15 to respond.

Earlier, Twitter sacked close to 3,700 people. On the other hand, the company fired 90% of the Indian workforce.

Twitter has fired the majority of its over 200 employees in India as part of mass layoffs across the globe ordered by its new owner Elon Musk who is looking to make his $44-billion acquisition work.

Recently, A lawsuit has been filed against the company for targeting female employees during the layoff process. However, during the layoffs, the company laid off 57% of its female workers compared to 47% of men. While comparing the gender disparity it found the company laid off more females than men for engineering roles.
