A Bengaluru-based developer’s claim of clearing 14 rounds of interviews to secure a job at Wipro has ignited a heated discussion online.

The post, originally shared by Antara Mandal on Instagram, quickly went viral, with many users questioning the authenticity of the hiring process.

While Antara proudly shared her new employee badge and office photos, former Wipro employees and HR professionals challenged her claim, stating that the company typically conducts only 4–5 rounds of interviews for developer roles.

The Viral Post and Social Media Reactions

Antara’s post featured selfies inside Wipro’s office, along with a caption celebrating her selection after 14 interview rounds.

She wrote, “After clearing 14 rounds of an interview, I have finally been selected for the ‘DEVELOPER’ role in ‘WIPRO.’ I create my own sunshine. Dreams are not what you see in your sleep; dreams are those that don’t let you sleep.”

However, the claim sparked skepticism, with many users mocking the idea of undergoing so many interviews for a single role.

Some suggested she might have miscounted the rounds or included interviews from multiple companies before landing the Wipro job.

Former Wipro Employees Dispute the Claim

Several ex-Wipro employees and HR professionals refuted Antara’s statement, asserting that the company typically conducts only 4–5 rounds for developer positions.

One user, claiming to be a former Wipro HR, commented, “14 rounds at Wipro? There is a maximum of four rounds, including the HR discussion round.”

Another ex-employee added, “As an ex-Wipro employee, I can vouch that there are max 4–5 rounds of interviews!!”

These responses fueled further debate on hiring practices, with some questioning whether companies are making recruitment unnecessarily complex.

The Broader Discussion on Hiring Practices

Antara’s post has reignited conversations about corporate hiring processes, particularly in the IT sector.

Many professionals argue that excessive interview rounds can lead to:

  • Candidate fatigue, discouraging skilled professionals from applying.
  • Extended hiring timelines, delaying onboarding and project execution.
  • Unnecessary complexity, making recruitment inefficient.

Some users pointed out that top tech firms like Google and Amazon conduct multiple rounds, but 14 rounds for a developer role at Wipro seemed excessive.
