An American multimedia instant messaging app, Snapchat has asked its employees to work from the office employees starting in February.

CEO Evan Spiegel called this policy a “default together”. This policy will be applied to all of Snap’s 30 offices around the world.

“After working remotely for so long we’re excited to get everyone back together next year with our new 80/20 hybrid model,” the spokesperson said.

According to the policy, the employees of Snapchat are expected to spend at least 80% of their time in the office. The employees are required to come out to the office four days a week, according to an internal memo.

Evan Spiegel said the new return-to-office policy would help Snap achieve its “full potential” and argued that what workers might give up “in terms of our individual convenience” would be offset by “our collective success.”

“We’ve been working this way for so long that I’m afraid we’ve forgotten what we’ve lost—and what we could gain—by spending more time together,” Evan Spiegel said.

“I believe that ‘default together,’ while retaining flexibility for our team members, will help us to accelerate our growth and deliver on our strategic priorities of growing our community, reaccelerating our revenue growth, and leading in AR”, Evan Spiegel added.

On the other hand, IT companies Infosys will soon be resuming their work from an office in a three-phased manner. Followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) took a strict stand on WFO and sent emails to employees asking them to work from an office at least 03 days a week.

Also, Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk said remote work will no longer be allowed and employees will be expected to be in the office for at least 40 hours per week, subject to exceptions by his approval.
